Kaikōura Fishing Charters trips

Relax and enjoy the scenery of the Kaikōura mountains and coastline as we depart from South Bay marina to our fishing grounds, the closest of which is only 10 minutes away.

First stop is the crayfish pots, where we will try our luck for this Kaikōura delicacy.

For the rest of the trip, it’s fish, fish, fish – blue cod, red cod, sea perch, tarakihi, Ray’s bream, bluenose, groper and more.

You’re welcome to catch and release. If catching for the table, we will fillet and bag your fish for you, ready for cooking. This usually attracts a huge variety of the seabirds that inhabit the Kaikōura coastline, such as giant royal albatross, mollymawks, petrels and many others. Birdwatchers and photographers will enjoy seeing them taking off, soaring, landing on the water and diving for fish.

The seal colony at the tip of the Kaikōura Peninsula is another highlight for nature lovers and photographers.
